Taylor Kohm is founder and managing shareholder of Kohm & Associates, P.C. She commands a highly talented team of attorneys, title abstractors, and paralegals meticulously trained beyond customary levels in the industry. Under her direction, the title department of Kohm & Associates, P.C. produces thousands of title reports annually. Taylor’s extensive knowledge of title issues has allowed her to handle loan curative issues ranging from defective land descriptions to complex intestacy issues to tax lien foreclosures. Additionally, she oversees the loan origination process and meticulously ensures the accuracy of loan documents prepared by the firm.
Taylor began her legal career at an energy law firm completing original and supplemental drilling title opinions for tracts of land located in the Barnett Shale. She quickly moved on to division order title opinions encompassing hundreds of tracts. Within a year, she was training the firm’s attorneys in various aspects of oil, gas, and mineral title examination. In 2009, Taylor joined Nelson & Associates as managing-attorney, overseeing the firm’s real estate title work. She developed additional lines of business and improved the firm’s processes which allowed the firm to achieve 500% growth in revenue while maintaining the existing staffing levels of the firm. After Nelson retired, Taylor acquired full ownership of the firm and established Kohm & Associates, P.C.
Taylor graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. She concurrently earned her Masters of Business Administration and Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Houston in 2007.
